HeartStarters Training Center

American Heart Association

HeartStarters provides Healthcare Provider BLS, ACLS, Heartsaver CPR, First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogen training programs. Founded in 7/2/2001 by Mary Houska, HeartStarter's mission is to provide a greater number of high quality life saving programs in Sioux Falls and the surrounding areas.
Certified an EMT-Paramedic since 1984, Mary has responded for victims of cardiac arrest and accidents in which citizens trained in CPR and First Aid have made a dramatic difference in how the victim survived and recovered.
As a resident in Sioux Falls since 1992  it was obvious we needed more high quality CPR/First Aid and ACLS classes available to the public.
Our goal is simple "Save Lives".

In 2002 HeartStarters received recognition as an American Heart Association Training Center.
Heartstarters offers training in your workplace for groups or at our training site for individuals.

Heartstarters moves with the times and technology. We offer two options for classes. We have Instructor led classroom couses or Blended Learning courses with Instrutor proctored skills testing.
Same certification card, different ways to get there.

Course descriptions and fees are listed for each course on corresponding title pages.

The workplace training program (AHA Heartsaver First Aid and CPR), meets OSHA recommendations. Bloodborne pathogen training is also available.
I have seen the unfortunate consequences for a victim when no help was available, don't be the bystander who is un-prepared to save the life of a co-worker or loved one. Schedule your training today.
The best chance of survival is given to the victims who receive help immediately. Allow HeartStarters to help you be prepared.
Did you know that statistically 9 out of 10 people in out of hospital cardiac arrest do not recieve help prior to ambulance arrival. This reduces the chance of survival for a victim of sudden cardiac arrest.
